Served in the Royal Air Force, from the age of 16, for 24 years.  

My last 10 years of RAF service was spent designing Training Courses. For each course designed, I taught Technicians, Managers and Instructors and for that work was awarded a Certificate of Commendation.  

During those 10 years Organised National Cycling Proficiency Scheme courses and with a team of helpers, taught Cycle Training to youngster’s aged 7 to 15.  

Passed both Car and Motorcycle Tests in 1964 and from the beginning took a keen interest in Driving and Vehicle Maintenance.  

On leaving the RAF, spent 3 years travelling the United Kingdom and occasionally abroad, driving a wide range of new cars.  Tasks involved organising car shows and giving presentations working on behalf of an office based sales team.  

The year leading to Qualifying as a Department of Transport (DoT) Approved Driving Instructor (ADI) was spent selling interactive processor based training systems.

DoT is now DSA (Driving Standards Agency) so now known as a DSA ADI.
