The DSA produced individual Driving Instructor ‘Fault Analysis Reports’ for 2000 to 2003. The results placed Driving instructors within one of three groups of pass rate, those below 30%, those above 70% and those in between. My pass
rates were 68.4% for 2000, 71.8% for 2001 and 68.2% for 2002. In 2003 my
pass rate was 79.3% and just 4.4% of all My
personal records for 2004, January to December, were 27 tests with 23 passes,
85.19%. Not such a good year for 2005, with a rash of failures leading up to Christmas, 22 tests and only 15 passes and a 68.18% pass rate.
Over 90% pass rate for 2006, with 21 tests and 19
passes. 2007, The worst year for results yet, with most failures in the first quarter of the year. Mainly as a result of taking a test with insufficient daytime driving experience, or against advice. 23 Tests and only 14 passes, a rate of almost 61%. 2008, Back to normal with 22 tests and 20 passes, almost 91% 2009, Another poor year for results with 27 tests and 17 passes, a rate of almost 63%. With the credit crunch, people were cutting back on training. I had a lot more tests than usual, but worked a lot fewer hours. 2010, So far this year, to the end of June, I have had 11 tests with 1 failure (and if the young lady had not tried to adjust to improve her reverse park, she would have passed also). That is again almost 91%. Congratulations to James C. passed his theory on his
birthday and first test 20 days later. Also
Congratulations to John G. passed his theory on his
birthday and first test 15 days later. The DSA My target is always a first test pass, balanced with the right amount and type of training. This again ensures overall costs are kept low.
