The small inland city of
Orihuela, based at the foot of
the mountains, is divided by the River Segura which is a natural divide between
the modern commercial centre and the old city which contains some of the most
important Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque architecture in the Alicante province.
Full of shops and boutiques Orihuela is a diverse city which makes an
interesting contrast from the beaches, enhanced by the mix of stunning
monuments, crumbling palaces and beautiful architecture.
